Hornby ScotRail Mk.35D trailers

OVER a year has passed since Hornby announced models of the Wabtec life-extended Mk.35D stock including trailers for GWR 'Castle', Cross-Country Trains and ScotRail lnter7City (17Cservices.

An initial investigation into the new models, which feature better levels of detail than the former Lima Mk.3 slam-door HST trailers, was presented in last month's issue of Rail Express with an overview of the GWR 'Castle Class' stock.

A little more time has been allowed to test and evaluate the ScotRail trailers which have been issued with the correct running numbers for set Nos. HA0l and HA02 together with two spare TSL trailers for making up five-trailer sets.

Hornby has previously released its Class 43 power cars in glossy ScotRail I7C livery as a twin-pack including No. 43033 and 43186 in anticipation of the new trailer models and has another pack scheduled for release this year. They were released quite early on relative to the introduction of HSTs on Scottish long distance routes,
