Unions slam rescue plan for SAA

Government cannot use more than R30 billion in taxpayer funds to keep SAA alive, especially when the rest of the domestic aviation industry is in dire need of assistance to recover from the effects of the Covid-19 coronavirus-enforced lockdown.
The rescue plan, described as questionable, is said to provide little that will differentiate the “new” SAA from its beleaguered predecessor, and would most likely see the new airline standing before government’s door for bailouts for some time to come.
