Unconventional, unflappable, and undefeated. The three words are an apt depiction of Jon Moxley, who’s deftly risen to the top of the sport over the last year. And, in his 14th appearance on this list, the “Death Rider” rides to the top of the PWI “500.”

True to form, the AEW World champion received the news of his achievement with less enthusiasm than he would watching the sunset from his pickup truck alongside his wife, WWE announcer Renee Young.

It’s not that Moxley isn’t proud of what he’s accomplished in the last year, including going unbeaten in singles matches in AEW and proving nearly unstoppable in New Japan (where he still holds the IWGP U.S. championship). It’s that, in his post-WWE wrestling career, the former Dean Ambrose refuses to be motivated by anything other than his love of the sport … and his quest to enjoy it. His approach seems to be
