Believe it or not, despite ‘car’being a pretty important word in the title of this magazine, Palmy local Reuben Hoeksema’s jet-sprint boat isn’t the first marine machine we’ve featured. Occasionally, we hear about a waterborne weapon that’s rowdy enough for us to overlook the fact that there are no wheels on this particular pony, there’s no suspension, nor even brakes for that matter. Sometimes, we’ve just got to throw caution to the wind and get the camera gear out for a closer look anyway.
This boat’s story began in 2014 with Reuben’s father, Erik, who, along with Sprintec owner Peter Caughey, put together the original plans for the machine.
