a shed on her West Yorkshire allotment, artist Alice Fox sits and paints a fallen apple branch, a victim of the high winds and dry weather that have accompanied this strangest of springs. The shed (one of three on her plot) pre-dates Alice’s time here and is cobbled together with chicken wire windows and a roof that is part corrugated plastic, letting in good light.
