UNLOCKED FOR LOCKDOWN
For those used to popping into The National Archives (TNA) at Kew for a few hours of research as and when they had the time, the current state of lockdown must be very frustrating. But there are many family historians who have never been able to visit the national archive of England and Wales, either because it is too hard to get to or because they don’t have the spare time or resources.
As TNA has had to switch its offering from physical to digital, a new opportunity has come along. For as long as this lockdown lasts (and let’s hope it won’t be too long) TNA is offering access to the digitised records on its website for free, and we want our readers to make the most of it.
