This year George V made a stop atreported that the king, who was wearing a kilt, tweed jacket and Balmoral bonnet, was greeted by a party of local dignitaries, but there was an awkward incident when “a dog of doubtful pedigree” ran through the barriers and “scampered along the platform… only a few yards from the King”. It was then “captured by anxious officials”.
