How many times have you heard the phrase 'back in the day'? Other variations include the glory days, the golden years, or even the salad days. I checked out the meaning of salad days as a phrase and it is actually quite apt for many of us, I think ... 'Salad days is a Shakespearean idiomatic expression meaning a youthful time, accompanied by the inexperience, enthusiasm, idealism, innocence, or indiscretion that one associates with a young person.'
