If you’ll allow me to lazily kettle all cars into two categories – a) the sensible stuff that does the job it was designed for but no more, and b) the group where rational thinking has no place – then the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series sits, brooding, in a distant corner of b). This is a car with a singular purpose, to push to its elastic limit the boundaries of what a car wearing a numberplate can do. Manually extend the front splitter and you’re barred from the public road, track only for you sunshine. That’s how fine the line is.
