Tension:

23 sts and 32 rows of stockinette stitch with larger needles = 10 cm.

Stitch patterns:

 Ribbing: *k1, p1*, repeat *–* to end of row. On the wrong side rows, knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts.

Stockinette stitch: Right side rows: knit all stitches. Wrong side rows: purl all stitches.

Lace pattern: follow the chart and the written instructions.

Ribbing in the round: *k1, p1*, repeat *–*.

Back

Using the smaller needles, cast on 117 (125) 137 (145) 153 sts and begin ribbing on the WS with p1. After 5 rows, continue ribbing on row 6 of chart I: work the 3 sts at the right end of the chart, repeat the 4 st pattern 27 (29) 32 (34) 36 times, work the 6 sts on the left. Work rows 7–21 of the chart.

Switch to the larger needles. Begin the lace and stockinette st on row 1 of chart II: work the 2 sts at right, repeat the 7 st pattern 4 (4) 4 (5) 5 times, k57 (65) 77 (71) 79, p1, repeat the 7 st pattern 4 (4) 4 (5) 5 times, work the 1 st at left. Keep working the middle 57 (65) 77 (71) 79 sts in stockinette st. At the lace sections, work rows 2–18 and then keep repeating rows 3–18. When the piece measures 40 (41) 42 (43) 44 cm, on every 2nd row bind off 1x3 sts and 2x2 sts at both ends for the armholes = 103 (111) 123 (131) 139 sts.

When the armhole measures 18 (19) 20 (21) 22 cm, bind off the middle 41 (41) 45 (45) 45 sts for the neckline. Work one side of the neckline at a time. After 2 rows, bind off 1x2 sts at the neckline edge. When the armhole measures 20 (21) 22 (23) 24 cm, bind off the remaining 29 (33) 37 (41) 45 shoulder sts.

Work the other side of the neckline to match.

Front

Work in the same manner as on the back piece but leave the middle 29 (29) 33 (33) 33 sts on hold for the neckline when the armhole measures 12 (13) 14 (15) 16 cm.

Work one side of the neckline at a time. Bind off 4x2 sts on every 2nd row at the neckline edge.

When the armhole measures 20 (21) 22 (23) 24 cm, bind off the remaining 29 (33) 37 (41) 45 shoulder sts.

Work the other side of the neckline to match.

Sleeves

Using the smaller needles, cast on 63 (67) 71 (71) 75 sts and begin ribbing on the WS with p1.

After 5 rows, continue ribbing on row 6 of chart III: work the 5 sts at the right end of the chart, re-peat the 4 st pattern 13 (14) 15 (15) 16 times, work the 6 sts on the left. Work rows 7–31 of the chart. Switch to the larger needles. Begin the lace and stockinette st on row 1 of chart IV: k7 (9) 11 (11) 13, work the 1 st at the right edge, repeat the pattern (= 6 + 1 sts) 8 times, k7 (9) 11 (11) 13. 8 sts increased, 71 (75) 79 (79) 83 sts on the needles.

Keep working stockinette st at both ends while following the chart for the middle 57 sts. Work rows 2–18 of the lace pattern, then keep repeating rows 3–18.

Note: When the piece measures 15 (16) 12 (17) 18 cm, increase 1 st at both ends. Repeat the in-creases every 4 (4) 4.5 (3) 3 cm 8 (8) 8 (11) 11 more times = 89 (93) 97 (103) 107 sts. Work the increased sts in stockinette st.

When the piece measures 51 (52) 53 (53) 54 cm, bind off on every 2nd row 1x3 sts and 4x1 st at both ends. Bind off the remaining sts. Knit the other sleeve to match.

Finishing

Pin the pieces to measurements, mist on the wrong side and allow to dry.

Sew the shoulder seams.

Neckline edge: Using the circular needle, pick up and knit the sts on hold as well as additional sts from the neckline edge for 96 (98) 98 (100) 100 sts in total. Start from one of the shoulderseams. Work ribbing in the round for 1,5 cm, then bind off in ribbing.

Attach the sleeves following the red markings on the pattern. Sew the sleeve seams and the side seams.

Upper back

Cast on 22 (27) 32 sts for the left shoulder and purl 1 WS row.

Begin the lace pattern on row 9 (5) 1 of chart I (II) I. The starting point is marked with a black ar-row. Work 22 (27) 32 sts following the chart. Work rows 10–11 (6–7) 2–3. Cast on 2 sts at the end of the last row.

Note: Double-check that the increases and decreases on the lace section match so the stitch count won't change. Leave the 24 (29) 34 sts on hold on e.g. a piece of yarn. Break the yarn.

Cast on 22 (27) 32 sts for the right shoulder and purl 1 WS row.

Begin the lace pattern on row 9 (5) 1 of chart I (II) I. The starting point is marked with a red arrow. Work 22 (27) 32 sts following the chart. Work rows 10–11 (6–7) 2–3. Cast on 2 sts at the end of the first row.

Work row 12 (8) 4 of the chart (WS): work 24 (29) 34 sts (= right shoulder), cast on 25 sts (= neckline), work 24 (29) 34 sts (= left shoulder) = 73 (83) 93 sts.

Continue on row 13 (9) 5 of chart I (II) I: work the 6 (11) 6 sts at the right edge, repeat the 20 st pattern 3 (3) 4 times, work the 7 (12) 7 sts on the left. Work rows 14–16 (10–16) 6–16 of the chart. Then work rows 1–16 two times and rows 1–6 once more. Work rows 17–23, increasing 4x1 st at the right edge of the chart and 3x1 st at the left edge (= armholes) = 80 (90) 100 sts. Leave the sts on hold.

Upper front

Using the longer circular needle, pick up and knit 22 (27) 32 sts from the RS of the right back shoulder. Purl 1 WS row.

Begin the lace pattern on row 9 (5) 1 of chart I (II) I. The starting point is marked with a black ar-row. Work 22 (27) 32 sts following the chart. Size 32-36: Work rows 10–16 of chart I. Work rows 1–16. At the end of rows 13 and 15, cast on 2 sts. Work row 1 once more, casting on 2 sts at the end. Work the increased sts following the lace pattern. Leave the 28 sts on hold on e.g. a piece of yarn.

Size 38-40: Work rows 6–16 of chart II. Work rows 1–13. At the end of rows 9, 11 and 13, cast on 2 sts. Work the increased sts following the lace pattern. Leave the 33 sts on hold on e.g. a piece of yarn.

Size 42-46: Work rows 2–16 of chart I. Work rows 1–9. At the end of rows 5, 7 and 9, cast on 2 sts. Work the increased sts following the lace pattern. Leave the 38 sts on hold on e.g. a piece of yarn.
