Material Matters: PLASTER

From smoothing walls, weatherproofing houses and creating decorative mouldings to supporting the set of broken bones and making impressions of your teeth, plaster is a versatile, unique and practical material for 21st-century living. While we’re familiar with most of the modern uses of plaster, alongside the decorative roses and cornicing found in period homes, plaster has a surprisingly long and unique history.
