HOW TO MAKE A CLAY PANDA PLANTER

MATERIALS

■ Air dry clay (we used Das modelling clay)

■ Bowl of water

■ Soft sponge

■ Glass jar

■ Cling film

■ Modelling tools

■ Acrylic paint

■ Paint brushes

■ Sandpaper

■ Varnish (we used Décopatch Sealing Varnish)

Even if you weren’t obsessed with watching The Great Pottery Throw Down recently, ceramics is one of those crafts most of us would love to try our hand at.

This panda planter is not only the cutest vase we’ve ever seen, it’s also a great introduction to the world of clay. No wheel? No problem. Get hold of some air dry clay from a local craft shop or online, and have fun with the making and decorating process.

Our top tip? Remember that
