FRUIT AND VEG

Look after chilli seedlings

Keep your chilli seedlings warm to encourage strong growth. When they are large enough to handle by the seed leaf, prick them out by lifting the seedling with a dibber and lowering the roots into pots of potting compost. Firm lightly and water them in but avoid drenching with cold water and put them back onto a warm windowsill or greenhouse bench. Give them plenty of space and add a cane to support the main stem as the branches develop. You can plant them outside in early June.
