The nights may be drawing in and mornings filled with dew, but September can be a time for warm, golden days in our gardens, and for enjoying any late-summer flowers at their absolute peak and produce at its most bountiful. It is also time to start thinking about the ways in which we can start putting our gardens slowly to bed for the winter to come. Certain plants will be looking past their best and a little neatening now won’t go amiss.
