    It’s 1977, and teenagers and best mates Sue (Brenna Harding) and Debbie (Ashleigh Cummings) are inseparable as they spend every minute of their time, whether at school or not, together and yearning to become members of the popular clique, the Greenhills Gang, whose power allows them to rule the local Cronulla beach scene. Obsessed with sexy surfer guys, the gang, led by the beautiful and popular Cheryl (Charlotte Best) are reluctant to anoint Sue and Debbie into the group until they’ve passed several tests. Even when they are successful and are brought into the gang, Sue and Debbie quickly realise that being popular isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
