The maniac upstairs

Struggling down the corridor with my food shopping, I made my way to my boyfriend’s flat.

Paul, 45, and I had been together for five years and spent most evenings at each other’s flats, although we still hadn’t moved in together.

But I liked it that way.

Living on my own, having my own space, I was fully independent.

Still, Paul only lived two minutes away.

That evening in February 2017, I rounded the corner to see him chatting to two men on his doorstep.
