Hearing my new kitten’s little miaow, I just couldn't resist scooping her up in my arms.
‘What a cutie,’ I cooed, nuzzling my face against her silky-soft fur.
It was September 2011 and me, my husband Philip, then 43, and daughter Katie, then 13, were all completely smitten with our 8-week-old kitten.
Katie named her The Mighty Boosh, after the BBC comedy show.
It made me cringe when the vet called her name
