On 17 June 1949 on the Isle of Man, a Norton rider by the name of Harold Daniell completed the Senior TT in 3h2m19s. He had become the first ever winner of grand prix motorcycle racing’s premier class. Fast-forward 71 years, on 23 August 2020, Miguel Oliveira etched himself into the history books as the winner of the 900th MotoGP race and Portugal’s first victor.
