BELLEVUE HILL HOUSE

elegance, this bathroom designed by Gillian Khaw (above left) and Tania Handelsmann has been cleverly reconfigured to deliver the owner her own private sanctuary – and it’s a space To create a serene and spa-like space within the new wing of the house that highlighted the view facing the lush, cascading garden wall. To emphasise the view as the focal point of the space, we inserted a new, overscaled, archedsteel window and created a line of symmetry that runs through the centre of the bathroom. To maximise the ceiling height beneath the new pitched roof there is a soaring arched ceiling that echoes the curve of the new window and creates a grand sense of volume. The finishes were almost secondary – luxurious and refined, but certainly not dominant.
