MATERIALS

• Assorted low-volume print fabrics to total about 40cm (¹/2yd) (background)

• Assorted fabric scraps including some with large florals and other printed motifs to fussy cut (appliqué)

• 15cm ( 1/4yd) yellow print fabric (binding)

• Fat quarter print fabric (cushion back)

• Light fusible batting such as Parlan at least 50cm (20in) square

• Fusible web

• Whisperweft or Weaveline

• Embellishments such as lace doilies, lace edging, buttons, ribbons and braids

• DMC Perle threads in colours to coordinate with your fabrics and embellishments

• 50cm (20in) zipper to match the cushion back fabric

• 45cm (18in) square cushion insert

• Template plastic, fine permanent-marking pen and stiff paper (160–220gsm)

• Size 10 or 11 milliners needle

• Fabric-basting glue pen

• Fine thread in a neutral colour

• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

• Sewing machine with 1/4in and zipper feet

• General sewing supplies
