It’s the love story that captured the hearts of the world and now a new book has revealed how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex fell for each other after a blind date.
Released next week, Finding Freedom charts the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from their first meeting through to their decision to start new lives away from the royal fold.
While some of the details serialised in The Times and The Sunday Times have proven controversial, the book also tells how the couple were instantly smitten after being set up by a friend when the Duchess, who lived in Toronto at the time, was visiting the UK.
Sitting on velvet chairs and drinking beer and martinis at Dean Street Townhouse in London in July 2016, Harry and Meghan were said to have been “in a world of their own” discussing their shared passion to do good in the world.
