PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2020

1. Gothic Bride

BY PETE BRISTO

A lone bride runs through the haunting Victorian Gothic architecture of Margam Castle. She was asked to twirl her dress so it lifted off the steps, while a high ISO allowed a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the naturally lit scene. We particularly love the use of a 16mm fisheye lens and how the distortion crams in the 19th century interior, emphasizing its imposing scale.

Camera: Nikon D3S

Lens: 16mm f/2.8

Exposure: 1/320 sec, f/3.5, ISO2500
