AS WE’VE NOTED BEFORE, the sheer volume of vehicles crossing the auction blocks in Scottsdale, Arizona, each January is staggering. By our count, the 2020 sales offered more than 3,600 vehicles of all types, from all corners of the globe, each spending an average of four minutes under stage lamps over the span of one week of gavel action. Our coverage from the cornucopia of vintage vehicles runs the gamut from the fast-paced, high-volume auction houses to the companies that offered discerning buyers a well-curated catalog, such as the one managed by Worldwide Auctioneers.
Based in Auburn, Indiana, Worldwide celebrated its fourth annual sale in the southwest desert suburb of Tempe, a change of location for the 2020 auction. Singh Meadows offered both ample parking for spectators and bidders alike, with sprawling space for the 55 vehicular lots that were scheduled to cross the block on the evening of January 15. This was a slight reduction in catalog content over last year’s sale, but the fewer numbers did not translate to diminished quality. In fact, Worldwide offered a wide array of exquisite Full Classics, European exotics, and domestic muscle cars, as well as a noteworthy concept car from Chrysler.
