    Northern California Marriage License Requirements

    In Northern California, you must be at least 18 years old to obtain a marriage license. Those under 18 must have parents present and a court order to apply. The bride and groom must apply for the license together and provide proof of age and identity (a driver’s license or a valid photo ID). If previously married, a divorce decree or death certificate may be required in some counties. There are no blood test or residency requirements. There is no waiting
