Eyes On The Prize

You might not know her name yet, but you might remember Celisse following her viral headline-grabbing performance with pop star Lizzo on US TV show Saturday Night Live, where she paid tribute to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, one of the original purveyors of rock’n’roll guitar playing. Now, the Gibson-toting six-stringer is hoping to make her own mark on music history.

“Guitar is kind of a crazy story for me,” says Celisse Henderson, who nowadays performs and records simply as Celisse. “I’ve only been playing for about six years.”
