MADAS —A BUNCH OF GUYS IN A SHED

Many people will look at this car and wonder why would you go through all the hassle of getting a car like this road legal when you could purchase a perfectly good motorbike or trike for the same visceral experience. But that would be missing the point.

Rob West, Mike Boven, and Dave Bray own the car together. They have another thing in common. They have all built or owned homebuilt or kit cars before. Dave currently owns two kit cars he built himself: replicas of a Porsche 356 and a Jaguar XK120. Rob still has an ongoing project, a Montage — a McLaren M6GT replica project — and at one stage, along with this Madas Monoposto project, he was also building an Almac TG.

As for Mike, he has long since sold his Almac TC to focus on motorbikes, but he appreciates the Monoposto (which means ‘single-seater’) as it does
