LONDON dealer Daniel Katz possesses one of the best ‘eyes’ of his generation. He made his reputation by discovering or attributing European sculptures, particularly bronzes, which he has sold to many of the world’s most important museum and private collections. However, he is no narrow specialist and his tastes and enthusiasms range across wide collecting fields, from antiquities to 19th-century and contemporary British art. In 2013, he consigned 282 lots for sale at Sotheby’s under the title ‘Defining Taste’, before relocating from Bond Street to Hill Street, W1.
