Have you ever thought that one generator or alternator stand is cooler than another? Here’s the lowdown on some genuine VW, old aftermarket, and some brand new offerings. Some are even collectable!

The 6-volt generators that were installed up to 1966 or so were pretty boring “stand-wise”. The 90mm diameter units all used the same style cast magnesium VW-made stand. There were so many used ones available that any interest in making an aftermarket one was pretty much nil.
