THAMES AND CORNWALL
More Dunkirk little ships return!
It never rains, but pours, they say, and the continuing slew after re-engining. Among the many other boats in the yard (Dunkirk or otherwise) is , the 52ft (15.8m) motor yacht built in 1931 by JW Brooke. She’s not been splashed quite yet, but Stephen Dennett thought we might enjoy a ‘sneak preview’ of her new art deco interior! Meanwhile, in Cornwall, little ship , a 33ft 6in (10.2m) motor cruiser built by Elkins of Christchurch in 1936, was relaunched by Cockwells. She was brought to the yard in a sorry state in the autumn of 2018, with a glass deck and rot underneath. She’s had a thorough restoration in time to participate in the return next year, but her original keel is intact and her backbone is still original.
