What variety!

HERE are around 300 delphinium species, and many more cultivars., of delphiniums as a tightly packed spire of bloom, but many species have elegant, widely spaced blooms. Among these are the Belladonna Group, which produce shorter spires: they flower at 3ft (90cm) in the first year, and a little higher after that. Look for ‘Atlantis’ (deep blue with a purple flush), ‘Oriental Sky’ (pale blue) or ‘Volkerfrieden’ (gentian-blue, and very good as a cut flower).
