Weightless FURY

Limited-edition Ducati Superleggera V4 is under production, only 500 units to be made

ANOTHER BONKERS BIKE FROM BOLOGNA IS IN THE WORKS. THE LIMITED-edition Ducati Superleggera V4 is currently in production. With only 500 units in the offing, this is going to be a rather exclusive bike for those lucky enough — not to mention wealthy enough — to own one.

“Superleggera” means “super-light” in Italian and Ducati have taken that name to heart. The Superleggera V4 may be based on the Panigale V4’s platform, but it also has the unique distinction of being the first and only series production bike to have its frame, subframe, swing-arm, and rims constructed from lightweight carbon-fibre. The fairing is made of carbon-fibre, too, and helps bring that kerb weight further down, along with the engine and specially crafted Akrapovič which are also weight-saving elements. In fact, the Superleggera comes with two exhausts, one for the road and one that is limited for track use. With the latter in place, the Superleggera tips the scale at an astounding 152.2 kg (dry weight) and offers a power output of 234 hp.

The lucky 500 who have bought the Superleggera will also get a racing kit that includes not just the titanium Akrapovič exhaust but also a carbon-fibre open clutch cover, swing-arm cover (also in carbon-fibre) with a titanium slider, and a headlamp and light replacement kit. That’s not all, each owner can also get bespoke, personalized Superleggera V4 leathers with airbags — part of the brand’s SuMisura Ducati line, and will also get a carbon helmet to go with it, both of which will feature the same colour scheme and graphics as the bike itself. And that’s still not all, buyers will also have the opportunity to experience Ducati’s WSBK Panigale V4R and 30 owners will also get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swing a leg over the brand’s Desmosedici GP bike from their MotoGP line-up. All of this will take place at a one-off Superbike Experience event to be held at the legendary Mugello Circuit in 2021.

Ather Energy to Offer Exchange Schemes

AS ATHER ENERGY COMPLETE TWO YEARS OF EXISTENCE FOLLOWING THE launch of the Ather 450 in 2018, the electric vehicle start-up has introduced an interesting new exchange scheme. To accelerate EV adoption in India, the firm is offering exchange of combustion-engine vehicles for a new Ather electric scooter.
