20 years and counting

IT’S EXACTLY 20 YEARS ago since I started writing Gundogs. I was asked to pen this column by Mark Hedges, the millennium editor of Shooting Times, who gave me a wide brief. “Write about anything and everything to do with gundogs, but do mention your own dogs. That might irritate some readers, but many like to read about dogs they think they know.”
