THE POWER OF PAINT

If seeking to completely reinvigorate, refresh and revitalise a room, paint is a relatively inexpensive, quick and powerful way to do so and inject a gladdening sense of renewed appeal.

For maximum impact, try painting a whole room in a new palette that is uplifting or calm depending on how the particular space is used and the desired mood (from a soothing bedroom to an energising study). The light in the room, style and colours of the furniture and objects are key to consider from the outset. Pinning sheets of paper painted using sample pots to the walls will help visualise the final effect before washing the entire room in colour.
