MAKING THE CUT

Cannondale has released a new version of its Scalpel, a thoroughbred XC race bike with 100mm travel that now uses a flex-stay suspension design to help it achieve its airy 1,900g weight for the frame and shock.

It’s this SE version of the new bike thatthough. A bigger-bladed Scalpel, it gets 20mm more travel front and rear, trail-friendly components like a dropper post, and most important of all, more relaxed geometry.
