A STANDOUT STAND-IN

n route to Key West, Florida, aboard reader snapped this spectacular sun-kissed view of the Richard V. Woods Memorial Bridge, known locally as the Woods Bridge. The swing bridge connects downtown Beaufort with Lady’s Island and the outer islands of Beaufort County, South Carolina. The bridge was featured in the film as a stand-in for one that spans the Mississippi River. In the film, Gump is interviewed by television reporters about his cross-country running trip while crossing the bridge.
