Q I did a system rebuild with Mint 19.3 on an SSD and /home on an HDD. I keep a separate drive for Windows because sat-nav can only get its upgrades that way. I discovered that it’s still possible to upgrade for free from Windows 7 to 10 so I went ahead and did it.

All seemed fine until I attempted to copy a file to the Windows 10 HDD that Linux can see. I discovered that it’s read-only. This was not a problem with the Windows 7 install. I was able to overcome it using an intermediate USB stick, but it would be good to have a properly functioning system.
