Sitting in the doctor’s office, I took a deep breath and started to speak. ‘I think Amba has an eating disorder,’ I blurted out.
Next to me, my 13-year-old daughter gasped.
She thought she had an appointment for a sore ear.
But lying to her was the only way I could get her through the doctor’s door.
