It may seem curious to think of pruning in thisand , that flowered last month should now be pruned. They flower on the previous season's wood and if you cut them back in summer, they will not flower next year. Pruning now means you keep control over form and dimensions, but guarantees a fine floral display. Remove wandering shoots, then cut back new growth to taste, looking to avoid the dreaded giant pincushion effect.
