Sealion Madness

TAKE A DRIVE along California’s scenic and rugged Pacific Coast Highway anywhere between Leggett to the north and Dana Point to the south, and it’s hard to not envision how many big bass the lavish rocky structure could hold. You wouldn’t stop along the way to make a few casts, of course, because largemouth, smallmouth and spots are freshwater fish incapable of surviving ocean conditions.

Likewise, when you visit San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf, or any other coastal harbor, to view lumbering sea lions sunning on the docks, you don’t worry about dealing with these massive animals back at your favorite bass fishing hole. They are, of course, marine mammals that only bother the local salmon
