KAROSSERIE HEBMÜLLER OLDTIMER-TREFFEN

As a Volkswagen enthusiast, you will likely have heard the name Hebmüller, or “Heb” for short, although you may have never seen such a car “in the flesh”. The Type 14A, widely known as “the Hebmüller”, is a two-seater Kabriolet model produced between 1949 and 1952. It features a coachbuilt body by Karosseriewerke Joseph Hebmüller Söhne.

The coachbuilding company was founded in 1889 by Joseph Hebmüller in Wuppertal, Germany, first specializing in horse carriages. After Joseph passed away in 1919, his four sons took over the firm and shifted to building bodies for automobiles. Its name soon changed to “Karosseriewerke Joseph
