WOMANKIND Art & Illustration award JOY

Art & Illustration award is themed on the feeling of ‘joy’, a fleeting elation easily forgotten in these troubled by Anne Yvonne Gilbert, a truly beautiful illustration. Our judges decided that this illustration perfectly depicted the ephemeral nature of joy, an emotion so near to sorrow. In second place is Seohui Chi’s . Does this illustration not sing of joy? In third place is the beautiful scene of taking time out in nature, by Nani Puspasari. In fourth place is Alice Pulver’s world of happy delights titled . In fifth place we could not overlook Marsha Wajer’s Blue-Footed Booby from the Galapagos Islands and Pink Axolotls joyfully playing in the ocean, titled . Wajer writes, “both are endangered but here they are blissfully enjoying being very much alive.” In sixth place is Stephanie Howden’s cleverly executed , and in seventh place is Zaina Alhizami’s fascinating , all whom seem to be finding joy in their own way.
