While most UK spec Bay Window Buses came from the factory without a brake servo or ‘power booster’, US imports did. And take it from us, driving a Bus without a servo means you’ll need legs like Arnie to stop a heavyweight camper. That’s why, having replaced everything on our long-term ’73 Westy project bar the servo, when we finally fired up the engine we were pretty dismayed to find our brake pedal was sucked straight to the floor – a sure-fire symptom of a busted servo.
