How to Place Saddle Components on a Hide

 Note: Matt prefers using a left and right cowhide when cutting multiple piece saddle component parts (ie. skirts and fenders). He likes to cut the right piece from one hide and the left piece from the other, so the leather is consistent in its wear.

1. Horn Bottom: Placement is below the butt so there is firmness in the leather and is easily shaped.

2. Horn Filler: This piece can be placed anywhere on the hide.
