French Connection The french utility that carried an Italian name…The Renault Estafette!

From the start of production, the Estafette came with the 845cc engine that Renault had used in the Dauphine. It developed 31bhp and was mounted as a unit with the differential and gearbox. The front suspension units, steering linkage, along with the engine and transmission were all mounted on a sub-frame that simply bolted to the underside of the body structure. A crossmember carrying the suspension unit for the rear wheels was similarly mounted at the rear of the body. The early basic model was designated R2130 and had a load-space of 600kg, the R2131 had a 500kg load limit.
