VINTAGE AD OF THE WEEK

The VW Beetle was a tough act to follow, but magazine that the Rabbit was “The best car in the world for under $3,500.” This ad focused heavily on the Rabbit’s ample cargo room for a vehicle of its size, as well as its combination of fuel efficiency (39 mpg highway, 25 city), and peppy performance (0 to 50 mph in 8.2 seconds). The 1976 model year was also the year that a diesel version of the Rabbit was made available in the United States.
