IN CASE YOU DIDN’T GET IT…
There was a question in the “Tech Tips” that struck me kind of funny. I thought the question is a good one and related to safety so it probably could use expanding on it a little; especially to keep someone safe when working on these old trucks. Please see the attached comments on it and see what you think. Thanks and congratulations on keeping the magazine coming!
In the MVM, October 2019 issue “Tech Tips” section, page 77, “School of Hard Knocks.” Clark T. asked, “What is the purpose of the little rod on the right side of the windshield frame of my M37?”
I don’t think the response answered the question.
Maybe the following response can be included in the “Tech Tips” section in a later issue of MVM.
That little hinged rod is the hood holder and it’s there to prevent a fully opened hood from slamming closed and injuring someone working in the engine area.
The hood holder and hood holder clip are located on the outside upper right of the windshield assembly near the windshield upper hinge. The holder socket for the hood holder is located on the right side edge of the hood. When the hood is raised to the fully open over-center
