Joe Namath rookie jersey going to auction by Grey Flannel Auctions

The rookie jersey of New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath is among several items to be auctioned by Grey Flannel Auctions on behalf of the family of Herb Norman, the. “Hobby fresh and photo-matched to multiple games from his rookie campaign, this jersey is likely to set an industry record. We are excited to see how the market reacts to a piece of this magnitude.” The jersey will be part of the Summer Games Catalog auction that begins May 25 and ends June 10. Norman has kept Namath’s rookie jersey for more than 50 years, along with other mementos from his time as trainer, which included being with the 1969 Jets during their Super Bowl victory and the 1973 Mets in their loss in the World Series. The 1965 game-used Joe Namath AFL Jets jersey was gifted directly to Norman’s son by the Hall of Famer himself. The jersey has been authenticated by and is the earliest known example to enter the market. Also on auction will be Norman’s 1969 Jets Super Bowl III ring and 1973 Mets National League Championship ring. Other auction items:
