The band even played their first UK show here, the night before their debut appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals. So today, when we meet him bright and early to shop for vinyl and chat about his musical loves, he’s in a relaxed and nostalgic frame of mind, although the all-important coffee is more vital than ever, as he had a late night at the Americana awards the previous evening.
