Liquid-feed leafy winter crops already growing such as silver beet, spinach, coriander and rocket. Boost with liquid organic fertiliser every 7–10 days.

Buy and plant asparagus, artichoke and rhubarb crowns now while deciduous stock is available. These long-lived perennials do well in dedicated beds enriched with compost or aged manure before planting. Where they’re already growing, cut back old growth and toss manure and compost around the area to feed the spring harvest.
