One of our biggest exports, Highland games have been recorded in Scotland for hundreds of years, though the games as we know them today – large gatherings featuring ‘heavy’ events such as the caber toss played out against a backdrop of Celtic dancing, beating drums and bagpipes – are the result of a Victorian revival.
